the music is pulsating
the people are dancing
the bass line is vibrating
in my solar plexus
making me move my hips
to the beat.
my arms are around him
his around me
dancing to the beat
his skin is so cool to the touch
our lips meet for passionate kisses
never wanting the night to end...

Love Poem #137 (2009)
i’ve written about love in the past
but now I know how it feels at last
how it feels to have the love of another
not just the love of a brother
or a sister
or of a mother.
it’s finally my time for love
for affection
for those long embraces
that you just don’t want to end
ever.
i want to stay in his arms forever
endure whatever
may come our way
i’ll hold on tight and won’t let go
and together we will grow
they say you reap what you sow
everything has finally paid off
now I’m in the arms of another
and I know exactly how he feels
he loves me
i love him
that’s all that matters now…

Sanity (2009)
i hear the ambulance outside my door
and i know it’s coming for me
i look at the flowers bloom
and they set my mind free
of all the pain
of all the distress
helps me keep my sanity
amongst the madness
i watch the candlelight
and i want to crash and burn
burst into glorious flames
i guess i’ll never learn
never learn to cope
never learn to heal
like i’m losing my sanity
that’s simply how i feel

For You (2009)
i can feel the blood rushing through my veins
as i try to sleep away the pain
every time my heart beats, it yearns for you
i see you in my dreams, but i can't see your face
but i know that you're out there
somewhere...
out there...

Poison (2009)
love is poison
drives you mad
wants to consume
makes you blind
i will never
(i will never)
fall in love
(fall in love)
love is toxic
takes you in
spits you out
twists the knife
i will never
(i will never)
fall in love
(fall in love)
ever again
(ever again)
love is fatal
breaks your heart
down the middle
leaves you dead
i will never
(i will never)
fall in love
(fall in love)
ever again
(ever again)
too much to risk
(too much to risk)
love is poison
makes you blind

Little Miss Perfect (2005)
i'm not like anyone else
and I don't plan to be
i can't live my life
like every girl I see.
blonde hair, bright blue eyes
barbie-like figure, telling lies
it's so sad to see
the loss of individuality
all around me.
low-cut jeans, baby tees
take me away from all of this, please
you're watching too much TV
and admiring too many celebrities.
i've seen too much of this
and it makes me sick
i wish she could disappear
in one magic trick
little miss perfect...
if you expect me, of all people
to be like her
well, you're in for a surprise
my dear, sir.
i prefer to be who i am
not someone in a magazine
i'm not into conformity
i'm a part of my own scene.
little miss perfect
you're giving such a bad message
look alike, sound alike, dress alike
what's wrong with this picture?
i wish she could disappear
in one swift trick.
little miss perfect
can't you see?
individuality is the key...

A Return... (2008)
and so, i have returned
to the art of writing poetry
but not to my pen and paper
i’ve decided to go electronic
keeping my thoughts and dreams
in word documents
much, much easier for a new age girl like me
thinking outside the box, thinking ahead of her time
well, not in every aspect
give me the golden age of film and television
none of this reality game show shit
the american idol’s and the survivor’s
whatever happened to “lucy, I’m home”?
whatever happened to that on monday nights?
as you may not already realize
i’m not your average twenty-one year old female
i don’t follow all the trends; i don’t follow the clique
i do my own thing; what makes me happy
not what everyone else wants me to do
it’s been a long time coming, but i think it’s time to break out
finally emerge as the woman that i’ve always wanted to become
not the girl that everyone wants me to stay
this is a re-introduction, if you will
just call me Ally
nice to meet you
i used to reject my nickname
now I embrace it wholeheartedly
it’s a sign of the changing times
the return to me.

Visions Of Insomnia (2005)
northern lights strike beyond our nerves
and certainly interfere
with the calm from elsewhere
i'm awake tonight...

Paint A Picture (2006)
paint a picture with some imagination
it will free your mind up without question
think about the silhouette of a woman
staring back at you from the doorway
her eyes see right through you
but you can't figure her out
you try to ask questions
but you hardly get an answer
she starts to cry; tears begin to fall
they give you a chance to really see her
who is this woman in your doorway
that cries herself to sleep every night
that's me, baby
that's me
paint a picture of devastation
i'll be your muse; your inspiration

Drunk On A Dream (2005)
imagine an angel
drunk on a dream
life is so hard
for this lovely girl
why does she have to suffer
for her art?
pain is just part of the program
she would say
cigarette smoke shimmers
as she takes a drag
it's her only relief
from the constant jetlag
everyone stares at her
when she sits alone
with every stare she gets
she starts to break
like a fragile glass
thrown to the floor
ready to meet its fate
a thousand little pieces
can't I just be left alone?
why won't you let me be?
i just don't get
what you see in me
her eyes seem to talk back
to the people that see
the girl that she tries
so hard to be
imagine an angel...
drunk on a dream
high on life
a slave to the music
that's shaped her life

Tonight's Feature Presentation (2008)
tonight’s feature presentation
has everything you’d ever want
in a blockbuster
comedy, romance, action
drama, drama and more drama
a moment of truth:
i am in love
oh so deeply in love
but he doesn’t know
he doesn’t know how much I care
should he find out?
and if he ever does
will i lose him forever?
watch the plot thicken…
close up on the tarot cards
on the table in maria’s backyard
the three of swords
struggle; heartbreak
tears; strife
conflict…
“i hate when i pull this card”
a moment of truth:
my father is dead
one summer day
my life completely changed
yes i have my mom
but i feel like an orphan
at twenty-one years old
and the family doesn’t care
see the drama unfold…
cut to the bell tower
every single day
i’m reminded of my loss
my pain
what i would give to see him
just one more time
but it’s time for me to soldier on
tonight’s feature presentation
will prove that there is
life after death
